Your stats are right on par with the school. If you add them to AMCAS and prewrite your secondary answers so by the time you get the secondary you can submit immediately, then you'll be complete pretty early compared to other apps. I say go for it if you have the extra cash

Hi SDN! I'm interviewing at Dartmouth on Sept 5 but I don't have a car... or a driver's license... I can get to Hanover via the Dartmouth Coach from Boston, but then how the f do I get to a student host's apartment (assuming I can't count on them being able to pick me up) and much more importantly, how do I get from their apartment to the interview so early that morning? Is there a fantastic shuttle system I'm overlooking? Is Uber actually not that hard to find? Are cabs actually real and not stupid expensive? Help a city girl out, please!

Getting there is like impossible from NYC! Lol

Depending on where the student is, it might be walking distance. A lot of the off campus housing is very close.

Otherwise, there is a free public transit system in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire that is called Advance Transit and is pretty good

Confirmed: 8/6

Completed: 8/8

Idk if anyone cares about that info but I'm a first time Canadian applicant and this is my first app ever completed and idk why but I'm excited
What's the difference between confirmed and completed guys?

Confirmed is when I submitted my secondary. Completed is when my secondary was processed by Dartmouth and considered "under review". It's exciting because once you're "complete" (aka: under review) you are now able to receive an interview invite.

Hey what are some uniques things about Dartmouth? Input from all including current students would be much appreciated!

Until when is it ok to keep adding schools to amcas/be early?
People say as long as you get the secondaries in by labor day, you're early? I think? Check the main pre-med forum - there's a post going on about this topic right now

Just flew in for interview tomorrow. Gotta say I love this area. Very small feel, and soooo green
Good luck!! How's the weather there this time of year? Does there seem like much to do? Was it hard to get to?

Hmm, unique things: varying clinical rotation sites, 1.5 year preclinical (new this year!), beautiful rural area, small class (gets along very well due to P/F), snow
Can you talk a bit about the non-trad community? Are most of them married already? Do the trads and nontrads mingle much?

Ended up flying to Boston-Logan and taking the bus (about 2 hrs bus ride). That was the only annoying thing about it. It's a comfortable 73 rn, which feels real nice. In terms of stuff to do, not too sure yet lol. There's a downtown area so I'm sure, but I'm a little outside of it so it looks pretty sparse out here lol

Thanks for the update! Keep us posted!! I really hope I get an II here, but for now I'll live vicariously through you!

There are a good amount of students that are either married or are in committed relationships.
Everyone mingles pretty well regardless of being trad or nontrad.
Is it a tough dating environment, then?

@MemeLord - I’m on a self imposed dating hiatus until I get into school. At that point, I’ll come to you for advice / share stories with you hahah

Ok yeah I loved it. I vibed really well with the school. Love the small feel, everyone is EXTREMELY nice. And apparently there is a lot to do, including skiing, movie festivals, ceramic and woodworking classes, water stuff, hiking, etc. It's up there for me for sure!

As someone who came to school married, there is a parents and partners group that hosts events to introduce everyone at the beginning of the year. The trads/nontrads do mingle pretty often.

Hey, pm me who you were! I am pretty sure I talked to you but I’m curious. I didn’t want to be the dude talking about SDN on the interview date.

Edit: the school had a great community - wasn’t segregated by nontrad vs traditional applicants. The area is beautiful.

I had a couple people ask me “Are you Elmo?” At my first interview, it isn’t weird. You can talk about SDN in interview dates hahaha
I personally don't like to talk about SDN unless someone asks, mainly because of the IIs that are associated with me. Just like asking people how many IIs imo, I don't like to brag or sound pretentious somehow lol

I 100% agree with the caveat that I am comfortable and honest with responding to when people ask me things (bringing it up randomly and unprompted is most certainly weird and pretentious, but if someone asks then sure. Was mostly meant as light hearted humor/sarcasm).

Just admit that you introduce yourself as meme lord to everyone you meet (other than your interviewers). I’m sure it’s happened...
