that was there right after submission, unless I got instantly soft rejected, that message isnt anything of signficance

Nope. I took it on July 7, so it hasn't been graded yet.

My stats are average, so wondering if my CASPer score is gonna hurt me in the long run. Got most of my secondaries submitted already tho...
 
Has anyone considered not submitting their CASPer to Tulane since it is only "encouraged"? Is that a stupid idea?

Where did you hear that? Multiple schools' websites say they use it for deciding on applicants so it doesn't seem like that's at least what they're claiming openly. I hope it's true though.

I don't see any reason to not submit it unless something went horribly wrong during your test. It may look lazy since they'll think you couldn't even be bothered to take a 1.5 hour test.

As far as the test goes, as long as you don't say anything outrageous I can't imagine your score would be low enough to constitute that being the reason you don't get a II.
 
Sorry if this has already been addressed but anyone know why I'm not able to answer the secondary app question currently? I'm on the portal and viewing the questions but can select anything or type in the essay boxes?
 
One more question then I'll stop spamming the thread lol. For the questions asking you to list leadership position and hobbies/interests, are did y'all really just list like "Hiking, traveling, tutoring" or did you list something and then describe it?

Also for the leadership positions, did y'all only put position that you listed on AMCAS as leadership experiences such as holding a position in an organization, or did you list experiences where you had some sort of a leadership role but leadership in general wasn't your main role? I wasn't the president of a club or anything but I have 3-4 experiences where I was teaching/training others and such that I consider leadership experiences but I don't know if this counts. Thoughts?

YES! I was about to add my last essay and hit submit, but now I can't...WTF.

Also sort of unrelated, but if I received the secondary application on July 3rd, is it terrible that I waited until now to submit? I am really interested in this school, but I have been working on secondaries for 20+ schools and working full-time/volunteering. I also want to make my essays perfect, so like??

for hobbies i put 4 things, two of which I described with a couple of sentences. if you enjoy hiking or traveling maybe put a sentence about one of your more enjoyable hikes or interesting travel locations.

for leadership question i expanded on the leadership roles i had in a couple of my activities which were also listed in my AMCAs application
 
I did not explain anything except for the one thing that was not described on my AMCAS explicitly in about 4-5 words. I figured they would've said "list and briefly describe"

Gotcha, thanks for your explanation. So were these leadership roles that you categorized as "leadership" on your AMCAS work/activities section?

Same here. I was able to make changes yesterday and went to finalize and submit today but everything not completed is locked...
 
Submitted yesterday night still possible to be in the running for a II here?

Oh calm down. They accept PRIMARY applications until October 15th lol. Not saying you should wait until then to start the process, but you are still considered an early/on time applicant if you submit your secondary by August.

I'm still waiting for my school to send out their committee evaluation letter so I feel pretty screwed for Tulane

I probably will to avoid having to possibly explain why I didn't, but can you explain why you recommend it?
 
Is anyone else having an issue where even though your references have been received, there's no green checkmark next to LOR on the secondary portal?
 
Having an issue still with the application site. When I try to paste in my response from a word document, it either cuts it off (at the number of characters rather than the number of words) or it does not let me at all. Anyone else experiencing this?
 
Do you think we should email/call them if submitted on 7/9 and still havent received a complete email?

No, this happens every year. Just be patient. Go read last years thread 🙂
