2019-2020 Tulane

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I didn't take it and got a "complete and under review email" on 7/18, so no
I think that's because Tulane only "recommends" that you take Casper but it isn't a hard requirement because they review applications with or without Casper results so you're good!

Um not marked complete or not in progress?

Not marked complete means you're probably missing something

Oops good catch. I'm marked complete, but there is still a red x for "In progress" in my portal.

It would be interesting to see if people were given "priority" if they prewrote their secondaries to show school interest. You know if your turnaround is same day or one day and theres a filter.

100% not the case and probably randomized in piles.

I turned my secondary in within 3 hours of receiving it in early July and haven't heard anything. Not complaining, but I don't think your theory is correct.

Meant more in terms of getting placed in the "complete and under review pile" versus II.
ie. If 2 people submitted 8/1, but one of them took 2 weeks, then hes a lower priority to review.

Its 99.999% not right but interesting to think about

email. A little flowery

It is with much regret that we inform you that your application has been reviewed and we will not be able to interview you for the Tulane University School of Medicine incoming Class of 2020. This is a disappointment, almost as much for those who are responsible for the decision as it may be for you, the applicant who is turned away.

I just want to see a Med school say something like:

Volunteer much? Get a heart for people.

No leadership? Become a social person you hermit.

You’re dumb.

You actually thought you had a chance?

Don’t apply again next year unless if you want to make another donation.

Thanks for donating to our school.

Nice grades. Not.

You’re gonna need to pack some sunscreen.

You suck.

We would like to invite you to an interview......kidding!

how come your application went in progress before mine 🙁 submitted on 7/27 (never got a completion email but was marked in the portal)
Hey! I got an email on 7/28 saying my application was under review. I don't know if that is helpful information.

Sweet thanks for letting us know. Congrats to both

As has been said many times by adcoms on SDN applications are not always reviewed in the order they’re received. People can be bumped up based on stats, URM, military, mission fit, etc. Or they just really liked what they saw from the other person.

@HighYieldOnly Hi I'm curious...what is "II WL"--u are waitlisted for interviews? I've not seen a school do that this early.

Praying my status as a brown dude sorts me into a different pile with earlier interviews. A man can dream 😆

I'm brown and I got an interview almost a month after I was under review. There's probably an illusionary correlation to draw from there that could make waiting easier.
