My student host interviewed here in February (during Mardi Gras) and got in, it’s never too late.
is it bad if i keep editing my letter and updating it to the portal. i only uploaded one update letter, but i keep editing it and reuploading it, im not sure if the committee gets a notification everytime i do, i dont want to annoy them.
I'm sure you'll be fine - just don't be too excessive with it.
@Gem91 No decisions this week?
Any idea when students placed in “acceptable range” can expect to start hearing back?
Weightlist movement (in the past) mostly happens after April 30th however with the new traffic rules it could happen early like February-ish
what are the new traffic rules?
Hit the search button-there’s a thread called “explain traffic rules” or something like that
Explain New Traffic Rules
R pre-II today (Complete 19 Nov), LM 71, with an MSc
Canadian international student...thinking that might be a big part of this :/
I don't understand. Don't they accept international students? And the school hasn't given out II (atleast from what I see on sdn) for a long time, month+. I'm beginning to think that they are full and just waiting for people to withdraw.
I think it’s even more competitive for international students because they only take in a few of them
Yeah hey do take international students. I know some that go to Tulane. I also got an II and I'm international.
Can any current medical students share their thoughts on where to look to rent apartments/houses? Safest areas/relatively quiet for studying but close enough to go out easily. Also within amount 15-20min max of the school. Been looking at lakeshore-lake vista, gentilly, and Filmore areas.
Anyone know when second look is?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've heard, Tulane doesn't have a second look event.
Does Tulane really like letters of interest/updates from their waitlisted applicants? I feel like I’ve heard that they do
I’m not a current medical student, but I know a lot of the med students live in Soleil apartments in the Lower Garden District. I think the Lower Garden District is probably the best bet in regards of safety and distance. It’s about 10-15 min away from Tulane Med. Some people prefer to live Uptown as well which is about 15-20 min away but it’s going to be pricier. There’s also a Facebook group called Tulane Classifieds where students post about availability of houses/apartments or looking for roommates. There are both undergraduate and graduate individuals in the group and not everyone in the group is associated with Tulane despite the name. Hope this is helpful!
Hey! I tried to PM you and I can't, but I was wondering the same about the updates. I would appreciate any input!
Most of us live somewhere together Uptown, Broadmoor, Freret, or Midcity. Tulane also offers student apartment housing connected to the hospital/across the street from school. It gets boring but it's stupid convenient.
Saulet* :^) dumb city and your silent letters
Does student housing have private kitchens or shared kitchens? And would you happen to know if there are private or shares washers/dryers located in student housing?
Hey! I think Austinerino may be referring to Deming Pavillion - check it out!
For everyone waiting to hear post-II, I callef admissions today and asked when we could expect to hear back. I was told they are trying to get the decisions out before the break. Winter break starts Dec 21 for Tulane so should be in the next week to week and a half
Ah i interviewed 10/23 and I’m getting very impatient
I interviewed 10/4 XD
If I hadn’t already gotten in somewhere I would be DYING right now
Are they done sending interview invites? They interview until end of February so since they are already in February and haven't sent out any other II but rejections, is it fair to assume its over lol
I was at the medical school last year for grad school and most people I knew lived in the Garden District, which is the part of town where the undergraduate campus and law school is. Most apartments in that part of town are great!
The medical school is downtown, so apartments there will be much priceier, but safe.
I lived in the Marigny area and I loved it. That neighborhood is right outside of the French Quarter but still pretty close to downtown.
If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me!
Anybody hear back recently? I got the under review email 11/08
Most students lived in the garden district? Lol are they all millionaires?
taylorr_tott might have meant Uptown. Tulane University and the law school are actually Uptown, but I also do know of medical students that live in the Lower Garden District
Yes I meant to say uptown! My appologies!

Next to med school check out Canal Street Condos and new units for rent at the Jung. These places are safe, have security, across the street from school, and will give you an extra 45-60 minutes a day to study.
Can you PM me too!? Thinking of sending some updates!
I can't PM you eitherr
now that’s what i like to hear!
Nothing here as well. Been under review since 11/16
Dumb question but if you decided to live in one of the two bedroom apartments in the Saulet with a roommate, is it $1550 per person or the total is $1550 and your share is $775?

I’d imagine that 70k in tuition alone would draw in some wealthy folks
Good luck to those that hear today. Ik this process is rough but it will be worth it.
Do you know if anyone is going to be accepted off the waitlist today?
Accepted! Interviewed mid October
Just got accepted!! Mid oct interview
Will more interviews be given out? To those who are under review
Thanks for the updates. Hopefully they'll get to the November people soon

Interviewed October 15 and I have not heard anything
