2020-2021 Saint Louis

one billion percent. jk idk its prob not a big one since this is 1st year. But another question I have is is the post II acceptance rate for in state residents like literally 100 percent . cause that's what msar makes it seems like. 100 people taken out of 360 Instate interviews.
Where are you getting this data? My MSAR shows ~449 IS applicants, 89 interviewed and 31 matriculated. Also very curious about post-II acceptance rate since they interview over a thousand people for 180 spots.

I have an interview coming up but haven’t been assigned a student interviewer, but have been assigned an MD interviewer. Does that mean I wasn’t selected for the pilot interview?

When is your interview? There are directions on the portal that say to email admissions if you still have not been assigned a student interviewer by the Thurs before your interview. I also hadn't gotten one so I emailed them and they basically said I might not have one or one might contact me over the weekend.

my b that was for another school. SLU oos post II acceptance rate like 55 percent. But people who interviewed on the first interview date 9/28 does it mean I have the higher chance?

I received an Interview on Friday (so excited), but I have heard nothing about VITA. No emails, nothing on their interview invite email about VITA. Is this required/ wouldn't they have said something about it in their email if it was? Just a little worried because I saw previous posts on this thread about them considering VITA. TIA

VITA sends something every Thursday, so don't sweat it unless you don't hear anything Thursday, I got invited earlier in the week last week, but didn't get anything from VITA until Thursday. And yes... I thought the same thing about them not mentioning it, so I wasn't anticipating the VITA email, but it is required and they ask you do to it within one month of your invite. Congrats!

If you don't mind, what's your complete date?

Can you complete your interview first and then do the VITA if it’s still within the month of II? Or is it expected to complete VITA beforehand?

I completed it the day after interview. It wasn't necessary to have it done beforehand! The only thing is, it is expected to be completed within a month of receiving the VITA invitation. It is also to your advantage to have it done ASAP after your interview to avoid delays in application decision so that the committee has your full application to review.

Does anyone know what they mean by this: 'We would appreciate receiving the official notice of your intent to register next fall within two weeks'? I just want to make sure signing this intent form does not exclude me from other school I am waiting on.

I think you should accept the offer. You can accept multiple offers. But I think by April 15th you can only hold 3 offers and by April 30th you have to make your final choice.

Don’t we usually have to pay a deposit for schools to hold our spot? Like before April? Is there somewhere to do that for SLU that I’m missing?

There's no mention of that from what I can see. I accepted my offer and then there wasn't anything after that.

I think deposits are more common for DO schools but MD schools don't always require them.

Congrats!!! I absolutely love St. Louis and I’m super happy for you! If you don’t mind, can you share ur interview experience at St. Louis? How long was it for example and how difficult was it?

It was pretty chill, the faculty member was nice and the flow was pretty conversational with the classic questions like why medicine, and describing activities you have done. Also a couple situational questions like a time where you were in the wrong. Overall the interview was about an hour.

Did anyone that felt they bombed VITA get accepted? I just did VITA and need some reassurance lol

I wonder if there is a specific order that they’re releasing the decisions (ex: A’s then WL then R)

Congratulations to all the acceptances! I'm sure that's a big relief, so relax and treat yourselves! I'm a SLU undergrad alum (who spent a lot of time on med campus), so if anyone has any questions about the general environment or STL, I can answer.

Out of curiosity, do acceptances come out continuously now or do schools kind of release them in groups on specific days?

any one of the accepted (or anyone actually) have anything to say about what they really like about SLUSOM? i'm interviewing soon and don't really have a clear answer to why SLU :sorry:

To those that got interviews and/or acceptances, what did you use your "any additional comments" essay to talk about?

Im not sure if I should use it as a "why SLU", a covid impact, or overcoming challenges essay

Thanks and congrats!

I wrote a lot and was very concerned it was too much, but I did diversity and transitioned that into a SLU love letter (aka "why SLU")

I used it as a why SLU both last cycle and this cycle. Got accepted this time without an interview.

I left it blank 🙂 why SLU would probably be a good option but it’s not super necessary if you don’t feel you need to.

woah, that's amazing congrats! How'd you get accepted without an interview dang thats blowing my mind
Sorry, I think I said it a bit strangely. I meant I wasn't interviewed this cycle. I interviewed later last cycle and wasn't able to get off the waitlist. This cycle they called and told me they would accept me on Oct. 15 without an interview based off my waitlist rank from last cycle.

Wow that’s awesome! Didn’t know this was a thing lol
